Kids Name New Tulloch Homes Development

28th February 2008

Tulloch Homes’ forthcoming development in the Highland village of Kirkhill will be named Black Isle View after running a competition with the local primary school.

The new home builder approached Kirkhill Primary School to come up with a suitable name for the development of four bedroom detached homes in the village which is around 8 miles west of Inverness.

More than 100 pupils entered the competition, offering scores of suggested names, many taking inspiration from the natural surroundings.

“The development is located in a spectacular setting on the outskirts of the village of Kirkhill, and the school is just a short walk from the site,” says Tulloch Homes Director Lynne Boyd. “So we approached head teacher Christine Ford to see if her pupils could help us out with finding a suitable name for the development, and we were inundated with excellent suggestions. Choosing a winner was extremely difficult, but we all agreed Black Isle View was a superb name for the development which enjoys beautiful uninterrupted views over the Beauly Firth and beyond.”

Eleven year old Lisa Wyllie and nine year old Liam Black both suggested Black Isle view, winning a £25 book token each. Lisa and Liam were also invited along to the development to unveil the first signs saying ‘Black Isle View’.

“We’d like thank everyone at the school for taking part in the competition, and head teacher Christine Ford and her staff for making it happen.“
