Footballer Lewis MacKinnon has achieved a notable hat trick in winning his third successive National House Builders Council award as site manager of The Maples, Tulloch Homes’ showpiece development at Ness Side, Inverness.
It is the fourth NHBC triumph in all for the former Caley Thistle player, now centre back and assistant manager of Highland League club Buckie Thistle.
“It’s a tribute to my team of trades people at The Maples, and their professionalism, that I’ve won my third successive national award”, said Lewis. “I’ve a tried and trusted group but we’ve also had new sub-contractors this year who have shown they can meet our rigorous standards.
“We’ve been extremely busy responding to consistently brisk sales, but attention to detail remains our focus.
“I was honoured by NHBC the first time for The Parks development in Inverness in 2016. Following that by landing a treble triumph for the prestigious The Maples location is something I’d hardly dreamed about.”
Sandy Grant, managing director of Tulloch Homes, said: ”We’re delighted at this latest recognition for Lewis and The Maples.
“Lewis has come through the ranks with us and is a tribute to Tulloch’s ‘grow our own’ policy in developing site managers. Hopefully his latest success will inspire others."
Lewis and his wife Ashley have three daughters, aged 16, 12 and nine. He started off his football career with Caley Thistle and former Aberdeen, Caley Thistle and Scotland man Duncan Shearer signed him for Buckie.
