Excitement builds as first look inside mansion renovation is revealed

8th December 2025

Plans for the sensitive restoration and conversion of the historic mansion house within the Drummond Hill development have been unveiled by Tulloch Homes.

The award-winning Drummond Hill development, just off Stratherrick Road, is a sought-after postcode for buyers looking for slice of seclusion and luxury, within the city of Inverness.

Only 9 homes remain within this historic site – including six apartments within the B-listed mansion house which have now hit the market.

Dating back to the 19th century, the Victorian Mansion was designed by Inverness architect, Alexander Ross, and once home to local solicitor, William Burns, and his wife, Mary Jane Fraser. Their marriage stone, with their initials engraved still sits proudly above the threshold.

Now, Tulloch Homes is using their 100 years of experience to sensitively restore and convert the mansion into six unique two-bedroom apartments.

Among the designs is The Lewisian, a ground floor two bedroom apartment spanning 1,260sq ft and available for £395,000. Boasting floor to ceiling windows in the open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, complete with kitchen island and feature fireplace, the home is well suited to a range of buyers. The main bedroom has been designed with a show stopping dressing area, en-suite, and enjoys large windows.

The homes will be available to view at an exclusive open event taking place in January.

Kieran Graham, Managing Director of Tulloch Homes, said:

“The homes at Drummond Hill are truly one of a kind. The development is spoiled with open green space, seasonal landscaping and established woodland to create a perception of seclusion and privacy while benefitting from city life a stone’s throw away.

“The mansion apartments are equally special. Each layout is one of a kind and, with the distinguished Tulloch quality and specification, is complete with original feature fireplaces, high ceilings and restored sash and case windows. Two of the apartments even benefit from private entrances and walled gardens.

“These homes capture the charm and character of a period property, paired with the benefits of a new build like modern energy efficiency, new fixtures and fittings, a fixed price, and new build warranty.

“These six apartments are already generating a lot of interest, and as a one of kind opportunity to live in a piece of Inverness history, it’s easy to see why.”
