Countdown begins to the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup Final 2019

As proud sponsors of the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup, we are looking forward to the 2019 edition of ‘Shinty’s Big Day Out’ which will culminate with Newtonmore taking on Oban Camanachd at An Aird, Fort William on 14th September in this year’s final.

Our Chief Executive, George Fraser - who himself is an eight-time winner of shinty’s biggest prize - met up with Newtonmore team captain, Evan Menzies, and Oban Camanachd skipper, Daniel Cameron, ahead of the two sides going head-to-head to lift one of Scottish sport’s oldest and most iconic trophies.

“I’ve been lucky enough to have contested a number of Camanachd Cup finals over the years so I know how excited Evan and Daniel, and their teammates, will be,” said Fraser. “Shinty is at the very heart of our community and many of our trusted suppliers, subcontractors and employees are involved in the game, so we are delighted to be able to support this year’s event, which is set to be one of the largest stagings of the final to date.”

Tulloch Homes are celebrating their third year as title sponsors of the Camanachd Cup in what is the Camanachd Association’s 126th year, with the cup having been contested since 1896. This year’s final will be broadcast live by BBC Scotland across TV, radio and online platforms.

A bumper attendance is expected at Shinty’s Big Day Out, which will also feature pipe bands, Gaelic musicians, arts and crafts as well as magicians, circus skills, puppet fun and more in a free Kids Zone presented by Tulloch Homes. Delicious food and drink will be served by the Mowi Salmon Wagon and Highland Hog Roasts.

Gates at An Aird, Fort William open at 10am with children under 12 going free with a paying adult. The final of the Under-14 MacMaster Cup Final is at 11am before throw-up for the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup Final at 2.15pm.
