Kids go FREE and Early Bird discounts available for Shinty’s Big Day Out!

This year’s Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup Final - dubbed ‘Shinty’s Big Day Out’ - is set to be the grandest staging of the event in its 123-year history with live traditional music and entertainment and a free Kids Zone adding a festival feel. This year kids under 12 go FREE (when accompanied by a paying adult) and there are also Early Bird discounts for those buying tickets with us before August 31.

First contested in 1896, the final of shinty’s premier national knock-out cup competition promises to be a brilliant day out for all the family and also an opportunity to watch two of the country’s elite shinty teams - 33-time winners, Newtonmore, and three-time winners, Oban Camanachd - go head to head.

This year’s final - held at An Aird, Fort William on Saturday 14th September - promises to be a day to remember. Gates open at 10am when spectators can enjoy live traditional music and entertainment. Younger spectators can head to the Kids Zone to enjoy a range of free activities including face painting, magic, puppet fun and circus skills workshop. ARTventurers will lead arts, crafts and sensory play activities while Gaelic songs and stories will be presented by Feis. The day will also feature the prestigious MacMaster Cup U14 final before the throw-up for the main event at 2.15pm.

Tulloch Homes chief executive George Fraser said: “The Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup is the most eagerly awaited annual fixture in shinty. We are delighted to continue our support of the Camanachd Association and our local communities by sponsoring shinty’s premier national knock-out competition.

The Camanachd Cup is also a highlight of the Scottish social calendar and spectators can enjoy some of the finest Highland hospitality in the various bars and food outlets situated throughout the An Aird venue.
