After spending years living in Inverness, Seonaid decided it was time for a change seeking a quiet pace of life in Aviemore closer to her daughter’s work. When she discovered Tulloch Homes' Bynack More development, everything quickly fell into place.

I’m originally from the Black Isle but moved to Inverness when my children were young. Over the years, life got busy, especially with work and my daughter Millie was travelling up and down the A9 every day for her job as a chef in Aviemore. It was a lot for her as a young driver, and I was starting to feel that it was time to slow things down a bit.

My family had stayed in Aviemore in the past, so I knew the area well. There’s a totally different feel to it, it’s much more relaxed and has a great energy. We started looking at houses and originally, I thought I’d downsize to something smaller with a garden, as I’d come from a three-bedroom house. That all changed when I saw the Cantray apartment at Bynack More.

I hadn’t really considered apartment living before. The moment I walked in and saw the view of the Cairngorms, I was completely taken. It was so uplifting. I’d missed having a view like that and the views from the Tulloch development are incredible. I went in for a chat and ended up making the decision that very day. It was quite spontaneous, yet it felt right.

This is my first time buying a new build. I’ve always lived in older properties, so the idea of a fresh, low-maintenance home really appealed to me. I already knew of Tulloch Homes, and I’d always liked the look of their developments. The homes didn’t feel boxy or identical, instead they have real character and a high-quality finish.

We moved into our apartment at the end of May 2025 and settled in quickly. The space inside the Cantray is amazing, especially the storage. There are two large cupboards in the hallway alone, which was a real bonus. Once we got our sofa in everything started coming together. We’re still waiting on one last chair, and then we’ll start adding a few final touches.

The views are incredible. Everyone who visits ends up glued to the window. Every day the Cairngorms look different. At sunset, the hills can turn a rich orange, and when the mist rolls in, it’s just magical. Even the birdsong and wildlife add to that feeling of calm. On a warm day, sitting on the balcony feels like being on holiday, I genuinely have to pinch myself that we get to live here.

Millie is loving it too. All her colleagues and friends live in the local area, so she’s right where she needs to be. And the support we’ve had from Tulloch Homes has been brilliant. The sales consultants, Anne and Jacqui, were amazing throughout, and the site staff have gone above and beyond. They really couldn’t do enough for us. It already it feels like home.
